Kate & her team undertook work to cut two of my Hedges, and to prune a couple of trees that had numerous overhanging branches & deadwood. Kate undertook a full inspection & review of the jobs, with me present, and gave me very comprehensive and knowledgeable guidance and advice. She clearly is very experienced and knowledgeable. The advice was highly relevant, and allowed me to get the best results from the works – with the outcome that the garden and property now have more light coming in, as well as ensuring that my property is safeguarded from any damage caused by the trees.
The team that undertook the work did so in a very professional manner, and have left the site clean and tidy.
I would highly recommend Kate, and plan to ask her and the team to do further work for me in Spring next year.

After several years of fighting a losing battle with our untidy front garden we called in Kate and her team. She came up with some good ideas on how to make the garden low maintenance. She advised us on where to source the materials and quantities required, on planting schemes and gave us an estimate of time required to do the job which allowed us to budget fairly accurately. ‘Our introduction with The Other Room came initially through a hedge cutting exercise. During a visit we discussed with Kate a substantial redesign of one part of our garden including the creation of two very large Japanese style rockeries. Kate not only designed the beds but also recommended a combination of pebbles, slates, rocks and plants that we would have never considered. The outcome is truly amazing. Additionally, various other tasks were added along the way including the removal of an old summer house and the supply and erection of a substantially larger one in a completely different part of the garden which required levelling, a new base laid and some creative engineering by one of the teams senior technicians to provide a creative supporting structure. Kate is a professional, has a great eye for detail but most importantly, she is a fantastic project manager which we considered to be very important especially once the work had commenced.’

‘The Other Room’ has carried out several large projects for me as well as regular grass mowing and garden maintenance over the past 3 years. The team has erected deer and rabbit-proof fencing, installed a land drainage system and rejuvenated the orchard and large deciduous trees by skilful pruning and surgery. The other major project has been to completely overhaul several very large herbaceous borders by laying weed-suppressing membrane covered with decorative stone mulch and then creating some wonderful planting schemes for me. The result is that now I have a beautiful garden which is a joy rather than a burden and full of colour throughout the seasons. I have always found Kate and her team to be creative, professional, very hardworking and totally trustworthy.’

‘Kate Hooper operates two disparate businesses – outside catering and garden maintenance. In regard to the former she has catered for my 70th birthday and for my granddaughter’s baptism. In each case she has provided an excellent spread which has been the subject of much complimentary comment by guests. My lawn had previously been tended by one of the franchise specialists but it was on ‘death row’. Her team comprehensively repaired the base and then sowed seed in loam with the result that it looks like a proper lawn again.
