A new garden lawn
Our client had a very shady garden with mature trees blocking out the light.
With approval from Local Authority, we removed some decaying trees and then lifted the canopy on some others. A whole new light came into the garden. To try to retain some privacy we planted a row of 5m tall Hawthorne at the bottom of the garden. These will soon give some screening and even in winter retain leaf cover.
The final ‘Icing on the Cake’ was to lay a new lawn. This has to be done very meticulously else it will be a waste of time . The ground was dug-over, levelled and stone picked. A top grade Loam was added. Then a quality turf that was with standing of some darker covered areas was laid. The turfs were abutted and cut into each other which ensure a bond. Then watering in every other day on dry periods.
