It is becoming increasingly understood as a way of watering the garden that saves water when compared to hose/sprinklers .
It takes the pressure of making sure your garden , your ‘Other Room’ is more a place of solace rather than a chore.
We also design and install more drought tolerant and bee-friendly garden landscapes and even just re-plant schemes.
Why does an irrigation system save water?
Well, set into a timer, it very slowly trickle feeds the mapped area, at night. This means the ground absorbs the water more easily and it accesses the roots versus watering from a hose/watering can, on a hot day when water just gushes all over the place. Plus is quickly lost via evaporation.
Slow trickle fed watering is the future . It can be a manual system or set on a timer. It means the water goes to the plants in a smarter, more environmentally aware way.
Even better if you can intergrate Rain Water Harvesting Tank somewhere in your garden that can be gravity fed with a sump pump system.
If you double this up with a ground cover (covering the drip feed irrigation too) with a membrane and some granite chippings > Hey presto! water stays in the ground (zero evaporation) and no weeds to fight off.
You, and the Plants are happy!
